Our Story
Over 20 years ago, Dr. Gerry Cope opened the doors to Family Medicine of Lake Ridge. He was quickly joined by Dr. Peter Mendel after both had completed their Active Duty service obligation with the U.S. Navy. As time went on, the office added a Nurse Practitioner–today, Donna Goodin serves the patient population in that role. Upon the retirement of Dr. Cope, Dr. John Wierzbicki joined the team that is now Family Medicine of Lake Ridge. We hope to be your health care providers for the next 20 years and beyond.

John Wierzbicki D.O.
Family Medicine Physician
Dr. John Wierzbicki received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University. He went on to study medicine at Nova Southeastern University from where he earned his degree in Osteopathic Medicine. He served active duty in the U.S. Army and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Donna Goodin returns to Family Medicine of Lake Ridge
Peter Mendel M.D.
Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Peter Mendel received his Bachelors degree from Duke University. He studied medicine at the University of Miami. Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Mendel served in the U.S. Navy. After he and Dr. Cope completed their active duty service obligation at Quantico Marine Base, they opened Family Medicine of Lake Ridge.
